This Saturday, Baltimore will host a world-class professional cycling race that will pass right by the Roland Water Tower ten times throughout the day.
Since most of Roland Avenue will be closed all day, it’s the perfect day for a Play Day at the Tower!

Roland Water Tower – 4210 Roland Ave.
The road around the water tower will be blocked off from 9am (or earlier) to 5pm. We provide the chalk and the traffic cones — you provide the fun!
Bring your bikes, scooters, chalk, bubbles, cowbells, a picnic, lawn games, a book, an art project, a ball, and get ready to play!
Note:
- Nothing formal is planned at the water tower on 9/6 — this is just a day to enjoy a community space, connect with neighbors, and cheer on top-level bikers from over 30 countries as they zip by.
- It will be tricky to get to the water tower if you’re not already nearby. The race starts downtown, goes north on Falls Road, east on Northern Parkway, and south on Roland Ave.
